DropIcon includes 3 main features:
DropIcon can create preview icons for more than 25 different image file formats. Icons can be created in each of the three different types supported by various versions of the Mac OS. As with all of DropIcon's features, generating icons is a snap! Just drag and drop an image file onto DropIcon in the Finder and it will handle the rest. DropIcon has no trouble processing hundreds of files at once, so drop an entire folder of images on DropIcon and watch as DropIcon works away in the background. Click here to see DropIcon in action.
Create a picture in a Finder window. DropIcon accomplishes this by taking the image and breaking it up into hundreds of 32x32 pixel tiles. Each tile is attached to a new, empty file with an invisible name. Finally, all of the tiles are lined up perfectly to form the image. DropIcon was the first utility to create icon pictures in brilliant 32bit color, upon the release of Mac OS 8.5. Finder Icon Pictures are great for CD-ROM publishers, software developers, or just about anyone who wants to spruce up their desktop.
DropIcon is a fantastic tool for converting image files between different formats. DropIcon can convert the more than 25 different formats it can read into five of the most popular, cross-platform image formats JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PICT, and PSD. Use DropIcon's drag & drop capabilities to convert anywhere from a single file to multiple folders of images in a single batch!
DropIcon was chosen as a "Top Pick" by the esteemed editors of Download.com!
